At Arcadia Refuge, we believe that healing the land begins with connection. Connection to nature, to neighbors, and to the unseen work of pollinators who make life blossom around us.

That’s why we’re so excited to co-host a volunteer day on Friday, June 21, as part of Pollinator Week, a national celebration of bees, butterflies, and all the small creatures that help keep ecosystems thriving. Interested in getting involved? RSVP Here.

šŸ What’s Happening

We’re teaming up with community-minded folks from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)Ā in their newly formed group "Feds Finding Community" to transform a weedy and littered utility corridor into a pollinator-friendly community gardenĀ at:

šŸ“ 1802 NE Minnehaha St.

Vancouver, WA 98665

šŸ—“ļø Friday, June 21šŸ•™ 10am–1pm

We’ll be cleaning up trash, pulling weeds, planting native plants, and beginning the long-term transformation of this right-of-way into a beautiful and productive space for people and pollinators alike.

🌱 Why It Matters

This is more than just a garden. It’s the beginning of a multi-year effort to turn neglected land into a hub of regeneration, a place that feeds not just bees and butterflies, but our sense of community and stewardship as well as some local, organically grown produce.

The idea started with a neighbor (šŸ‘‹ Founder of Arcadia Refuge Farm) who saw potential in the land under the transmission lines — potential for beauty, biodiversity, filling a community's needs for belonging, connection, and food. Thanks to the dedication of BPA staff and a bit of bureaucratic persistence, we now have the green light to dig in and grow. Not only do we have the green light, we have dozens of helping hands eager to make a difference, despite recent setbacks in funding and authority for sustainability initiatives.
